Assam CEE Exam Eligibility Criteria
To get into any college through the Assam CEE Exam, you need to meet these requirements:
- Residency: You must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. You’ll need a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam, issued by the right authority.
- Central Govt. Employee Quota: If you’re applying under the Central Government Employee Quota, you must provide proof of permanent residency from the state authorities outside Assam.
- Education: You must have passed the 10+2 exam (or equivalent) in one attempt. You can’t use grace marks to pass. You need to clear all the required subjects/courses at the 10+2 level, including both theory and practical exams, as specified.
- Qualifying Marks: To be eligible, candidates need to score at least 45% in their 10+2 exams (or equivalent). For those in reserved categories, the minimum is 40%. This rule follows the AICTE Approval Process Handbook for 2024-2027.
- Alternatively, if you’ve completed a 3-year Engineering & Technology Diploma from the State Council for Technical Education, Assam, with 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in the final diploma exam, you’re also eligible.
- Age Limit: You must be at least 17 years old when you register for the CEE (Common Entrance Exam). There’s no upper age limit, so older candidates can apply too.
- Character: You should have a good moral character. A certificate from the head of the last school or institute you attended will be required to prove this.
- Fitness: You need to be in good physical and mental health. A medical certificate from a registered doctor or medical officer must be submitted as proof.
